How I found my way to therapy
I didn’t always know I wanted to become a therapist. I originally studied business and fashion merchandising at ECU and later managed a small boutique in Raleigh. The part I loved most about that career was helping women feel confident and beautiful. That eventually led me to volunteer with Crisis Text Line, where I found my passion for creating space for someone’s story. From then on, I knew I wanted more time to build relationships and support people beyond a single difficult moment.
I earned my master’s degree in social work from UNCW and was drawn to trauma work, particularly supporting survivors of sexual violence. During my time at The Rape Crisis Center, I felt especially connected to the women trying to understand who they are and wanted to help them reclaim a sense of agency over their lives. Those relationships shaped the kind of therapist I am today and the practice I wanted Green House to be.
CERTIFIED THERAPY DOG
Meet Kiki.
Kiki is my certified therapy dog and may join us for in-person sessions. She’s been in my life for almost 9 years now and has been my best friend through many phases of my life. She’s been working as a therapy dog for about 2 and a half years and has plenty of experience with difficult emotions. She’s calm, gentle, and has a way of making people feel calmer. She may sit nearby and offer some company during a difficult moment or simply nap while we talk.
You’re never required to interact with Kiki. If you have allergies, feel uncomfortable around dogs, or would simply prefer a dog-free session, let me know, and we’ll make the space work for you.
WHY GREEN HOUSE?
Growth doesn’t always look like moving forward. Sometimes it means slowing down, looking beneath the surface, and spending time with the parts of your story you’ve learned to avoid. Green House is rooted in the belief that going deeper can bring you closer to who you really are.
Growth in the Descent
Interested in working together?
If you’re looking for a therapist who will meet you with warmth, honesty, and curiosity, I’d be glad to hear from you.
